About this Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Parichay Matrimony Private Limited (“Parichay Matrimony”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, displays, shares, protects and retains personal information when you use parichaymatrimony.com, our official applications that link to this policy, or related customer-support and matrimonial services (together, the “Services”).
Our Services help adults create matrimonial profiles, find potential partners, express interest, communicate with other members, and manage memberships. We aim to give you understandable information and meaningful choices about the information involved.
Scope: This policy is for Parichay Matrimony services that link to it. HIV Parichay Matrimony and Muslim Online Marriage are separate branded services; their own websites or apps should display their applicable privacy notices. This policy does not automatically replace those notices.
Back to topEligibility & Profiles Managed by Family
Our matrimonial Services are intended for adults who are legally eligible to pursue marriage under applicable law. Users must not create or maintain matrimonial profiles for children or misrepresent someone’s age. In India, the usual minimum marriage age is currently 18 for women and 21 for men, subject to applicable law.
A parent, relative, friend or representative may help manage a profile only with the individual’s knowledge and permission. If you submit another person’s information, you must have authority to do so and ensure they understand how their information may be used and displayed. We may request confirmation when necessary.
Back to topInformation We Collect
The information we collect depends on the features you use and what you choose to provide. Some information is needed to create and secure an account; other details are optional but can improve relevant matches.
| Data category | Examples | Why it is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Account & identity | Name, mobile number, email, gender, date of birth, login credentials and verification records. | Create your account, verify access and provide account support. |
| Matrimonial profile | Photos, age, height, marital status, religion, community, caste/sub-caste, mother tongue, education, job, income range, family details, location and partner preferences. | Show your profile and help identify potentially compatible matches. |
| Information you choose to disclose | Disability or health-related details, personal background and other profile descriptions. | Display optional information you choose to use for compatible matchmaking, according to available visibility controls. |
| Member activity | Interests, shortlists, profile views, messages, chats, contact-detail access and support enquiries. | Operate matrimonial features, troubleshoot issues and handle misuse reports. |
| Payments | Plan, payment amount, transaction reference, payment status and billing/contact details. | Activate memberships, reconcile payments and maintain required transaction records. |
| Technical & usage data | IP address, browser/device information, session logs, login activity, cookies and approximate location inferred from connection data. | Login security, fraud prevention, website functionality, diagnostics and analytics, where used. |
When optional identity verification is offered, we will explain what documents are required and how they will be handled before collecting them. Please avoid sharing identity numbers, financial credentials or private medical records in public profile descriptions or ordinary chats.
Back to topHow We Use Information
- Membership and matchmaking: create and maintain profiles; support search, filters, partner preferences, recommendations and profile visibility settings.
- Member interactions: deliver interest requests, shortlist features, messages and access to contact details according to the relevant feature and privacy rules.
- Payments and support: manage plan activation, subscriptions, payment support, complaints and enquiries.
- Safety: help detect spam, fraudulent accounts, suspicious activity, harassment, misuse and Terms violations.
- Service communications: send OTPs, account notices, membership notifications, requested match alerts and essential support responses.
- Improvement and compliance: measure performance, diagnose technical problems, maintain records and comply with lawful obligations.
Where consent is legally required, we seek appropriate consent for the relevant purpose. Where applicable law permits processing on another ground, we use that ground only to the extent lawful. Withdrawing consent may limit or end a feature that relies upon it.
Back to topProfile, Photo & Contact Visibility
Matrimonial Services work by showing relevant information to other users. Your profile details, photos and contact information do not necessarily have the same visibility. The visibility of each depends on the feature, your settings and the recipient’s eligibility.
Certain profile fields may be shown to signed-in members and, where the website permits, to visitors or on shareable pages. Avoid adding confidential information to fields intended to be displayed.
Where available, photo controls may let you choose a visibility such as all eligible viewers, paid members or accepted-interest members. The setting in your account governs the relevant photo feature; access may vary by page and membership status.
Contact viewing may be restricted by your chosen privacy option, membership eligibility and/or mutually accepted interests. Purchasing a plan does not by itself mean all private data becomes publicly visible.
Other members who are legitimately allowed to view or receive information may save it, screenshot it or disclose it outside our Services. We cannot recall information already copied by someone else. You can request help if another member misuses your data.
Back to topSensitive & Optional Matrimonial Details
Some matrimonial fields may reveal sensitive aspects of a person’s life, including religion, caste or community, health, disability, marital history, family circumstances or finances. Share these only when necessary, and check the available visibility controls before saving.
We use information you voluntarily add to relevant matchmaking and account features, according to the choices provided. If a field is optional, you can leave it blank. Do not post other individuals’ private medical, financial or identification details without permission.
If you want such information corrected, hidden or removed, use your available profile controls or contact our Privacy Desk.
Back to topInterests, Chat & Member Interactions
When you send or accept an interest, shortlist a member, open a contact detail or use messaging, the system may record the activity so that the corresponding feature works. A receiving member will see information that is necessary to understand or respond to that interaction.
Messages and reports may be accessed by authorised support or safety personnel where necessary to resolve a complaint, investigate suspected fraud, meet legal obligations or troubleshoot a service issue. Do not share OTPs, passwords, payment PINs or sensitive documents with a match.
Members are responsible for their interactions and should verify identity before meeting or paying anyone. Use the reporting and support channels if you experience suspicious or abusive behaviour.
Back to topWho We Share Information With
We disclose information only for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable law and relevant user choices. Depending on the service, recipients may include:
- Other members: the profile fields, photos, interests, chats or contact details they are entitled to view through platform features.
- Service providers: web hosting, technical infrastructure, email/SMS/OTP delivery, support tools, analytics and security providers acting to provide relevant services.
- Payment partners: payment gateway and financial service providers for processing, validation, fraud detection and reconciliation.
- Legal authorities: where disclosure is lawfully required, or appropriate to respond to valid legal process or protect users.
- Business transitions: subject to applicable requirements, in connection with a merger or transfer of business where necessary safeguards apply.
We do not grant another member unrestricted access to private contact information outside the platform’s applicable access rules. We do not authorise service providers to use account information for unrelated purposes merely because they help us operate the Services.
Separate services: If you are offered cross-platform matching or support through another Parichay-branded service, the nature of any data transfer and your choices should be explained before such sharing takes place. Do not assume profiles are automatically cross-posted.
Back to topPayments, Plans & Transaction Data
For paid memberships, we maintain details such as the selected plan, transaction reference, payment status, date, applicable contact limits and renewal details. Online payments may be handled by a third-party payment gateway, including PhonePe where offered. Their handling of payment credentials is governed by their applicable terms and privacy notice.
Do not send complete card numbers, UPI PINs, net-banking passwords or OTPs to staff or to matrimonial matches. We may retain transaction and invoice records for accounting, customer-support, dispute resolution and mandatory legal periods.
Back to topCalls, Messages & Marketing Choices
We may contact you about account verification, support, membership activity, relevant matches, plan-related issues and important service updates through email, SMS, calls or WhatsApp, depending on the interaction and applicable permissions.
Promotional messages should be sent only when legally permitted and according to applicable preferences or consent. To opt out of optional promotions, follow an unsubscribe option when available or email response@parichaymatrimony.com. Essential service and security messages may continue while your account remains active.
Back to topCookies, Analytics & Similar Tools
We use or may use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, remembering preferences, protecting forms, measuring website traffic and understanding feature performance. Some third-party service providers may set their own cookies when their services are enabled.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect login or other account functions. Where applicable law requires separate permission for non-essential tracking, consent controls should be implemented accordingly.
Back to topMobile App Permissions
Our applications may request device permissions only when they are needed for a feature, and available permissions may differ between app versions and operating systems. For example, the camera or photo library may be requested if you choose to upload a photo; notifications may be requested for relevant alerts.
Permission details shown by your operating system and the app store listing are the best source for the permissions actually requested by your installed app. You can usually adjust permissions in device settings, although denying access may disable the related feature.
We do not intend this policy to imply that every listed permission, precise GPS tracking, contact-list upload, SMS reading or social login is used by every version of our app. Such claims must match the real implementation.
Back to topSecurity, Fraud Prevention & Reporting
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information from unauthorised access, alteration or misuse. Measures may include account authentication, access controls, protected application routes and monitoring for suspicious activity. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Keep your account password confidential and never share OTPs. If you think someone accessed your account without permission, you discover public exposure of private content, or you receive suspicious requests, contact our Privacy Desk promptly with the relevant profile ID and a description of the issue. We assess incidents and make notifications as required by applicable law.
Back to topHow Long We Keep Data & Account Deletion
We retain data while needed to provide the Services and for additional periods where required for lawful purposes, such as payment records, security, audits, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations. Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
To request deletion: use an account-deletion option if your version of the Service provides one, or email response@parichaymatrimony.com with the subject Account Deletion Request and your profile ID. Please do not include passwords or OTPs. We may verify ownership before proceeding.
After an eligible request, we will assess what can be removed from the active Service and whether any information must be preserved for lawful reasons. Backup and legally retained copies may not disappear instantly; previously downloaded information held by other members is outside our direct control.
If a person’s profile was created without their permission, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Back to topYour Choices & Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request information about how your data is processed, obtain access to information, correct inaccurate details, withdraw relevant consent, request erasure, raise a grievance and exercise other statutory rights that apply to you.
- Update your profile: correct personal details from your account where settings allow.
- Manage visibility: review photo and contact access controls and any available privacy preferences.
- Control communications: manage optional notifications or request removal from promotional outreach.
- Request help: write to our Privacy Desk for access, correction, withdrawal, deletion or grievance support.
We may request limited information to verify that you are authorised to make a request. Some requests are subject to lawful exceptions, retention rules and verification requirements. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Back to topChildren & Underage Accounts
Our matrimonial Services are not intended for children or for marriages that do not meet legal age requirements. We do not knowingly offer matrimonial profiles for minors. If you suspect an underage account, let us know through our contact channel so we can investigate and, where appropriate, restrict or remove it.
Back to topStorage & International Users
We primarily operate from India and serve people in India and abroad. Information may be processed or stored using technical service providers whose infrastructure is located in India or other countries, depending on actual hosting and vendor arrangements.
Where international transfers occur, we will follow applicable legal requirements. Individuals in other jurisdictions may have additional privacy rights; contact us if you wish to submit a request under a law that applies to you.
Back to topExternal Websites & Links
The Service may link to external websites, WhatsApp, social media, maps and payment providers. Their privacy practices are controlled by those providers, not this policy. Review the relevant third-party notice before submitting information to them.
Back to topChanges to This Policy
We may update this policy when our Services, technical practices or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version on this page with its updated date and provide additional notice where required. Material changes affecting your choices may require further communication or consent.
